Will Samson at the Journey Through Willzhead blog is running a 2007 Pantry Challenge. Will argues that we (Americans) are quite wealthy and this is evidenced by our food pantry. The Pantry Challenge involves participants buying only perishable staples (milk, eggs, etc) and consuming the food in their pantry. The challenge is to see who can last longest without a regular trip to the grocery store.
The Pantry Challenge is a great way to raise awareness on some important issues. Head over to Will’s site and read up on the contest. Will is even offering an Amazon gift certificate for the contest winner.
I would love to participate in the contest but I already like to empty the cupboards several times each year. I’m in the process of doing that already this week. Maybe next time!
