There are numerous reasons why foreign tourists are keen on spending holiday in Indonesia, even some of them plan to come back after making a visit last year. Bali Island and the beaches are the most popular reasons. Besides, tourists enjoy staying in Indonesian because of friendly people, affordable living cost, and spicy foods. My recent research shows that foreign travelers love to visit Indonesia to discover more Hindu temples. Yes, we all know that Indonesia has a number of Hindu temples. What are they? Find the answers below:
Prambanan Temple (Yogyakarta-Central Java)
Prambanan Temple is probably the most heard Hindu temples for local and foreign tourists. Indeed, the Prambanan Temple Compounds is the biggest Hindu Temple complex in Indonesia. It was first established in 1991. The location is in Prambanan, Sleman, 15 km away from the city of Yogyakarta. This position is in the frontier between Central Java and Yogyakarta.
Pura Luhur Uluwatu or Uluwatu Temple is a famous temple in Bali. It is situated 97 meters above the ground. In the former days, people went to this temple to hold rituals and worship the God. Tourists love to visit Uluwatu Temple because it’s located near the beautiful beach.
Lingsar Temple (Lombok)
If we talk about Hindu temples in Indonesia, we shouldn’t forget to include Lingsar Temple in Narmada, Lombok. The greatest thing about Pura Lingsar is the fact that it’s the only Hindu temple (maybe even the only place) where Moslem and Hindu people have rituals. Yes, this temple shows the intimacy and harmony between two different religions.
